RAISING FUNDS BY RUNNING A MARATHON
Asha organizes a "Run for a Change" program under which I am training to run a marathon, beginning with a half-marathon in October. I invite you to be a part of this by donating a small amount to Asha. No gift is too small – over 700 million people in India get by on less than $2 per day, and even a small contribution has a real and immediate impact.
ASHA FOR EDUCATION - THE BEST NGO PROMOTING CHILDREN'S EDUCATION
Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to catalyze socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children. Asha has supported over 300 projects and disbursed over 6Mn$. It has 66 chapters and over 1000 active volunteers. It is the HIGHEST ranked charity by Charity Navigator.
Lack of education directly or indirectly contributes to Exploitation, Child labor, Population growth, Poverty, Unemployment, Health and hygiene problems.
I believe that education can have tremendous socio-economic impact in developing countries. I wanted to spend my time in the best way possible to help this cause. And there was no better conduit than Asha.
WE CAN MAKE A VERY-VERY SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE
• $1000 - Can build a school in rural village
• $500 – Can completely take care of a ten year old girl until she graduates from high school.
• $100 – Helps to educate hundred rural pregnant women on infant health
• $50 – Helps to buy books for entire village school
• $25 – Takes care of education and living of one child for one month
