Hi

I am running a marathon(yup the full 26.2 miles) this year to raise awareness about the development issues in India and to raise funds for Asha and AID projects.

There are millions of Indians living in poverty. Worst affected are kids of these families because they are made to work from a very young age. Their parents want to send them to school but simply can't afford it. Unlike the US or other developed countries, education is not free in India. My firm belief is that by providing education we can help these children realize their true worth and earn a respectable living.

I chose AID and ASHA for their 15 years of experience in this field. They are student initiated voluntary organizations and hence 100% of my contributions go towards the cause. I am impressed by the fact that they have successfully implemented over 385 projects and raised over $6 million.

Take a look at how much change your contributions can bring:-

$25 – Takes care of education and living of one child for one month
$50 – Helps a rural farmer start his own business
$100 – Helps educate hundred rural pregnant women on infant health
$250 – Helps train hundreds of rural men and women in making clothes, using a bank and more
$500 – Can completely take care of a ten year old child until she graduates from high school
