I plan to run the Chicago Marathon (26.2 miles) on October 12, 2008. This year I will be running as a part of the Asha MIT/Boston Marathon Team. Our team plans to raise funds for the various projects in rural India that are supported by the Asha MIT/Boston chapter. Asha for Education is a secular
organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. You can find more information about Asha MIT/Boston chapter at http://www.ashanet.org/mit/index.php

My goal is to raise $2600 ($100 per mile) and I need your help. Any contribution regardless of size would be greatly appreciated. Here is how your contributions can bring a change in someone's life:

$500 – Can completely take care of a ten year old child until he/she graduates from high school
$250 – Helps train hundreds of rural men and women in making clothes, using a bank and more
$100 – Helps educate hundred rural pregnant women on infant health
$50 – Helps a rural farmer start his own business
$25 – Takes care of education and living of one child for one month
$10 – Takes care of education of one child for one month
