Hi Friends, I am training to run Chicago Marathon (26.2 miles - 42 kms) on October 12th 2008. One of the goals of this training is to raise money for AID(Association for India Development) and ASHA(Asha for Education)
For any person who has been to India, the images of poverty, illiteracy, and exploitation are quite obvious. There is plenty of work to be done to improve these conditions. AID & ASHA are two voluntary non-profit organizations committed to promoting education, sustainable, equitable and just development in India, by working with grassroots organizations and movements in India. Very high portion of donations to ASHA & AID (more than 95%) go directly towards executing projects. Both AID & ASHA are highly rated charities, they have a highest possible rating of 4 from charity navigator.
