Asha for Education, Silicon Valley started the original marathon fundraising program in 2000 which turned out to be one of the most successful fundraising programs in Asha's history.
In 2003, Asha MIT/Boston chapter had its first marathon program in the Boston area

In 2005, Boston/MIT chapters of Asha for education and AID decided to join hands together and work towards an annual fundraising program.
