Q. Want to get in shape, do something for a great cause, meet amazing people, and have the time of your life in this year?
A. Join us: Group run on every Saturday morning. Please join the Facebook group (link on left menu) to stay informed about the program.
Running a marathon is one of the most exhilarating experiences that one can endure. AID and Asha have trained many first-time runners to complete marathons and in the process have raised funds for education and sustainable development projects in India.
The TeamAIDAsha Marathon program trains runners with beginner to veteran level of experience to complete their marathon while raising funds for educational, social and economic development in India. The training program starts in spring every year and targets the fall marathon and half marathons (Chicago, Lowell Bay state). With over 100 runners and over $300,000 raised over the past seven years, the marathon program is our largest fundraiser event for AID and Asha for Education, Boston/MIT chapters.
To learn more about the program, please see these slides from the information session at this link. The summary information sheet here has summary of important information that you will need to successfully complete the program.
Email info AT teamaidasha DOT org for more information. You can meet the coach, alumni runners, mentors, and volunteers at the session and it's free to try.
