Running for a cause
Whether you are a beginner or experienced runner, you can try out our group training runs under our coach for a few days before you formally sign up for the fundraising program. Our group training runs are normally on Saturday mornings in Cambridge/Somerville/Arlington running trails. Running a marathon is one of the most exhilarating experiences that one can endure. AID and Asha have trained many first-time runners to complete marathons and in the process have raised funds for education and sustainable development projects in India.
The TeamAIDAsha fundraising program trains runners with beginner to veteran level of experience to complete their marathon or half-marathon while raising funds for educational, social and economic development of underprivileged children and marginalized communities in India. The training program starts in spring every year and targets the fall marathon and half marathons (Lowell Bay state, DC Marine Corps Marathon). With over 175 runners and over $440,000 raised over the past eight years, this program is our largest fundraiser event for AID and Asha for Education, Boston/MIT chapters.
