TeamAIDAsha virtual club
Following the recommendations from CDC in 2020 March, we are postponing all of our in-person trainings and meetups until Covid-19 issues are resolved.
It is still a good idea for us to stay active and healthy. We are opening a virtual training club for anyone interested to virtually run with us. Whether you are a beginner walker/jogger or an experienced runner, you are welcome to join this virtual club to motivate each other to stay active, no strings attached. Please join our Strava club at
https://www.strava.com/clubs/teamaidasha_virtual
If you are starting from zero miles and would like to get started, checkout the steps outlined here. If you would like to stay active with some simple training plans for your first 5K, 10K or longer races, checkout https://www.jennyhadfield.com/training-plans . They have many options for run/walk to half or full marathons. You can also checkout the various training materials geared towards beginner runners posted at our website https://www.teamaidasha.org under the menu "Learn more -> For runners".
If you are training for your first full or half marathon, we recommend training with a group of experienced runners like TeamAIDAsha. That will make sure you can get personalized guidance and support throughout the training period.
After the virus situation improves we will announce the annual TeamAIDAsha training and fundraising program. Please make sure to join our meetup group at https://www.meetup.com/teamaidasha to receive emails when we start group training sessions (April through October every year). You can opt into that program if you like to receive structured training guidance, organized weekly group runs at/around Boston and suburbs, private group clinics on shoes, stretching, nutrition, track workouts, hill workouts, fundraising, etc. In any case, you can stay in the virtual training club as long as you like.
As always, please make sure to follow the CDC guidelines while running/walking outside, at home or at the gym. Stay at least six feet away from each other, avoid running behind anyone coughing, wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, stay home and call your doctor if you are not feeling well.
